About this tender
Overview The Department of Communities and Justice (NSW) is seeking external legal service providers to supplement its internal capacity by establishing a panel for the provision of specialist legal services across New South Wales, covering Children's Court Advocacy and Advice and Claims (Legal Entitlements). Purpose The purpose of this panel is to deliver critical legal services and support the Secretary's statutory child protection functions. Objectives Streamlined access to specialised legal services across NSW Quality legal representation Support efforts to reduce the over-representation of Aboriginal children in out-of-home care Ensure vulnerable children and young people can access legal entitlements, including Victims Support Scope The panel will support DCJ's statutory child protection functions by providing access to specialised legal expertise and high quality legal services, procured under the following sub-panels: Sub-Panel 1: Children's Court Advocacy Provision of legal representation services on behalf of DCJ in Children's Court proceedings, to enable DCJ to meet its statutory obligations under the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 (NSW) Sub-Panel 2: Advice and Claims (Legal Entitlements) Provision of services to review documentation and provide advice on potential legal entitlements for children and young people in out-of-home care, including on the lodgement of Victims Support Scheme claims, where instructed by DCJ The panel will provide ongoing access to specialist legal services that support vulnerable children and young people across New South Wales.
