About this tender
Overview The Department of Defence, through the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA), is inviting tenders under Request for Tender (RFT) ATM ID: ASCA-RFT-2026-LDTPM for the Land Distributed Tactical Power Management Challenge, also referred to as the Power Challenge. About ASCA is accelerating the delivery of innovative capabilities to the Australian Defence Force by rapidly developing, testing and transitioning technologies that address Defence's priority needs. The Power Challenge is a collaborative initiative between Australia and the United Kingdom (UK) focused on advancing innovative solutions to meet emerging land force energy requirements. Scope Through this RFT, ASCA is seeking tenders to develop and demonstrate innovative solutions that address one or more of the following Desired Capability Effects (DCEs): DCE 1, Company Level Power Generation and Management: a modular, scalable and low-signature power capability that supports dispersed company-level operations for up to 72 hours independently of higher-echelon power sources. The capability may incorporate power generation, energy storage, energy replenishment and power distribution functions, and should support operations at company, platoon and section levels. DCE 2, Tactical Edge Power: a modular and scalable power capability that enables platoons, sections and individual soldiers to operate for up to 48 hours without reliance on company-level replenishment capabilities. The capability may incorporate local power generation, energy storage, energy harvesting, battery exchange or energy replenishment functions suitable for operation at the tactical edge. Multiple DCE 2 systems may be employed to meet platoon-level energy requirements. Contractor Requirements Conditions for participation are as set out in the Conditions of Tender within the RFT pack.
