Queanbeyan Medicare Mental Health Centre

Overview COORDINARE - South Eastern NSW PHN is seeking a suitably qualified provider to establish and operate a new Medicare Mental Health Centre in Queanbeyan, in accordance with the Medicare Mental Health Centre National Service Model and COORDINARE's commissioning requirements. About COORDINARE has received Commonwealth funding to establish the new Medicare Mental Health Centre in Queanbeyan. Purpose The Queanbeyan Medicare Mental Health Centre will provide free, timely and person-centred mental health support for individuals experiencing psychological distress, mental ill health and/or co-occurring alcohol and other drug concerns. Scope The National Service Model outlines four core service elements. The scope includes: Responding to people in significant distress, including people at heightened risk of suicide, providing support that may reduce the need for emergency department attendance Providing a central point to connect people to other services in the region, including offering information and advice about mental health and alcohol and other drugs (AOD) use, service navigation, and warm referral pathways for individuals and their carers and family Providing in-house assessment, including information and support to access services Providing evidence-based and evidence-informed immediate support and short-to-medium term episodes of care, including utilisation of digital mental health platforms Establishing a safe and accessible physical site in Queanbeyan Developing strong referral pathways and partnerships with Southern NSW Local Health District, general practice, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations, alcohol and other drug services, psychosocial supports, housing and social support services, and other relevant local providers Funding Up to $920,000 (ex. GST) in establishment funding is available in 2026/27 Indicative operational funding of $1,123,972 (ex. GST) is available in each of 2027/28 and 2028/29 Total anticipated funding available across the establishment and operational period is $3,167,944 (ex. GST) Establishment funding may support eligible costs including suitable premises, administration, building fit-out, IT-related costs, co-design and consultation, and service design Establishment funding cannot be used to construct a new building or extend an existing building The Centre is expected to be fully operational by 1 July 2027 Funding is subject to contract execution and may be refined through the procurement and contract negotiation process Tender Briefing COORDINARE will host an optional Industry Briefing and Q&A session for interested applicants.
