About this tender

Overview Bland Shire Council is seeking submissions from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the rehabilitation and resealing of sections of MR 371. Scope The works generally comprise pavement rehabilitation, stabilisation, imported granular pavement construction, bituminous sealing, traffic management, environmental controls and associated ancillary works necessary to complete the projects in accordance with Council requirements and applicable Australian Standards. Existing Pavement Preparation Rip, crush and reprocess existing sealed pavement, or alternatively mix the existing surface where required Remove unsuitable or oversized material encountered during rehabilitation operations and transport to a designated stockpile located adjacent to the worksite Maintain safe trafficable conditions throughout construction Imported Pavement Material Supply, place, mix and compact 100 mm thickness of DGB20 granular pavement material Imported pavement material shall comply with applicable RMS/Transport for NSW specifications Pavement Stabilisation Stabilise pavement using a 70/30 slag-lime blend at an application rate of 2% Stabilisation depth shall be 200 mm minimum Spread and mix the stabilising agent uniformly and thoroughly through the pavement layer with a minimum of 2 passes Undertake moisture conditioning to achieve optimum moisture content prior to compaction Pavement Shaping and Compaction Shape pavement to achieve a uniform surface profile and a nominal 3% crossfall Compact pavement to specified density requirements Eliminate surface deformation, rutting, segregation and soft spots prior to sealing Bituminous Surfacing Trim, prime and seal the rehabilitated pavement surface Apply a 14 mm aggregate C240 seal to the road rehabilitation area, then a full length of job S45R seal from chainage 22.020 to 30.025 Provide a seal width of two traffic lanes at 3.8 m width per lane, giving a total sealed width of 7.6 m Provide a 200 mm overlap where the new seal meets the existing seal Temporary Delineation Supply and install temporary raised pavement markers ("Stick & Stomps") on both centre line and edge lines upon completion of sealing works Maintain temporary delineation in place until permanent line marking is completed by Council Brooming Operations Light broom excess aggregate from the sealed surface following completion of final sealing works Contractor Requirements Suitably qualified and experienced in road rehabilitation and resealing works Must supply all labour, plant, equipment, materials, supervision, testing, environmental controls and traffic management necessary for the safe and satisfactory completion of the works
