About this tender

Overview NPWS South Coast Branch, part of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (NSW), is seeking to engage a suitably qualified contractor to deliver landslide remediation and culvert replacement works along Tallowa Dam Road in Morton National Park. About Tallowa Dam Road sustained significant damage during the March 2022 flood event, resulting in an active landslide and failure of associated drainage infrastructure. Geotechnical and hydraulic investigations undertaken in 2025 confirmed that the site requires remediation of the landslide and replacement of damaged culverts. Design of the works has been completed, resulting in the scope being construction only. The design, which will be released as part of the tender documents, was completed by PSM Consulting Pty Ltd. The design is considered complete and NPWS does not expect any significant design changes during or as a result of the procurement activity. Purpose If the works are not undertaken, the affected section of Tallowa Dam Road will remain closed due to ongoing geotechnical instability, posing an unacceptable risk to public safety. This will restrict access to Tallowa Dam and surrounding areas within Morton National Park, impacting NPWS operations, emergency response capability, asset maintenance access and visitor use. Ongoing instability also presents a risk of further slope failure, which could result in additional damage to infrastructure, increased remediation costs, and prolonged disruption to park access. Scope The scope includes: Construction of landslide remediation works along Tallowa Dam Road Replacement of damaged culverts along Tallowa Dam Road A comprehensive overview of the scope is provided in the following attachments: Attachment A, Issued for tender drawings Attachment B, Geotechnical Design for tender report Attachment C, Schedule of quantities Attachment D, REF (Review of Environmental Factors) Attachment E, EPBC Protected Matters Report Attachment F, REF Determination Report Attachment G, Geotechnical Site Report Attachment H, Aboriginal Due Diligence Report
