WSA Finalisation and Auxiliary Works – Corridor Restoration Works – Seed Procurement

Overview Sydney Metro requires an organisation to provide approximately 1300 kg of native seed, composed of numerous species, including storage, testing, quality reporting and monitoring of shelf life, in support of the WSA Finalisation and Auxiliary Works, Corridor Restoration Works project. Purpose The Service Provider is to procure, preserve and safeguard a supply of native and endemic seeds to be used for ecological restoration and biodiversity enhancement within and adjacent to the project area as part of Corridor Restoration Works (CRW). Scope The scope includes: Coordinating the supply and management of native and endemic seed resources on behalf of the Principal for the Project Processing, storage and testing of procured seed Planning, sourcing and management of the seed resource Procuring and storing seed for use in Corridor Restoration Works from 2028, or as otherwise determined by the Principal Undertaking planning in collaboration with Sydney Metro and ERS to ensure a supply of seed is available for use in Corridor Restoration Works Providing advice relating to the commercial supply of native seed to inform available quantity, quality and suitability of species procured for use in Corridor Restoration Works Commencing seed procurement planning as soon as the Contract is awarded, to ensure sufficient and timely supply is secured and an appropriate signal is provided to the seed market Managing procurement of seed in accordance with the seed supply schedule documented in the Corridor Restoration Plan and the CRW program Obtaining prior approval from Sydney Metro concerning price, volume and quality of each proposed purchase, and proposing alternative species and volumes for approval where required Networking and sourcing other suitable suppliers to collect and develop supplies of species on behalf of the Principal, in accordance with agreed price, volume and quality requirements Storing and processing seed from the point the first supply is secured, continuing until 2030 with the completion of direct seeding activities in CRW Testing procured seed for viability at regular intervals and managing seed viability during storage Re-selling seed deemed at risk of losing viability prior to use in CRW and replacing it with fresh seed, where directed in writing by the Principal Contractor Requirements Ability to arrange procurement to balance sufficient and timely supply against the risks to seed viability, longevity, damage and theft associated with securing supply closer to the project delivery date Enquiries Contact: Mark Naudi Email: Mark.Naudi3@transport.nsw.gov.au
