C11 - Design and Construct - Channel Island Power Station - Synchronous Condenser Project

Overview Territory Generation (TGen) has procured a new 40MVAr Synchronous Condenser system for installation at Channel Island Power Station (CIPS) to increase network strength and support the penetration of renewable energy. TGen is seeking a suitably qualified and competent Design and Construct (D&C) Contractor to provide the Balance of Work (BOW) for this project. Objectives The primary objectives of the project include: Provide inertia, short circuit current and voltage control capability Improve operational efficiency by displacing thermal capacity and/or increasing load factors on current generating units Scope The scope includes: Provision of the Balance of Work (BOW), comprising the ancillary and interconnecting elements necessary to support the synchronous condenser system Integration of the Synchronous Condenser (Syncon) and ancillary systems, which will be provided as Principal Supplied Equipment, into Channel Island Power Station Contractor Requirements Must be a suitably qualified and competent Design and Construct (D&C) Contractor Site Inspection Site inspection is by arrangement.
