The Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements – Small Business Recovery Grant has been released to assist small businesses recovering from to 31U Tropical Low Flood event and 34U Tropical Cyclone Narelle in March 2026. Grants are available to small businesses that have been directly affected and have incurred damage as a result of the eligible disaster. The grant supports the costs of clean‑up and to reinstate operations, helping businesses resume or commence trading as soon as possible. Who can apply Small businesses located in the defined disaster areas of: Katherine Coomalie Litchfield Roper Gulf Victoria Daly West Daly West Arnhem Belyuen Wagait Greater Darwin, Cox-Daly and Marrakai-Douglas Daly What can impacted small businesses apply for? Eligible expenditure for grants must be in the nature of clean-up and reinstatement and may include: cost of engaging existing employees of the business to carry out or assist in clean up based on hours worked at actual pay rates of relevant employees. Costs of immediate actions required to clean-up (including safety inspections) Removal of debris and damaged goods from premises business is operated from repairs and reinstatement of fixtures and fittings within premises essential to resume operations Replacement or leasing of equipment or materials necessary for immediate business resumption Replacement of stock that was damaged by the disaster and is essential to restart operations Costs of occupying temporary premises if essential for immediate operations Insurance excess relating to eligible reinstatement costs. Funding is limited to restoring the business to its pre-disaster condition and cannot be used for upgrades, improvements or to cover indirect losses.
