Study NT: Study in Australia’s Northern Territory Scholarship – VET/TAFE, ELICOS, Secondary School

Overview The Northern Territory Government, through the Department of Trade, Business and Asian Relations, provides the Study NT scholarship to support talented international students who wish to study VET/TAFE, ELICOS, or secondary school programs in the Northern Territory of Australia. The scholarship recognises strong academic results, leadership qualities and community involvement. Applications for VET, ELICOS, and school students are accepted until 1 May 2027. Funding Students can only receive funding through one program, either the 2026/27 International Student Accommodation Grant or the 2026/27 Study in Australia's Northern Territory Scholarship, not both. Eligibility In making an application, applicants represent to the Northern Territory Government that they meet the following conditions: They have applied for and received an offer to study with a Northern Territory education provider (a full list of providers is available here) They have enrolled into a course that starts between 1 October 2026 and 1 May 2027 They are enrolled into a course that leads to an occupation identified on the Northern Territory Skilled Occupation Priority List (list available here) They can show a record of academic excellence, leadership and/or community involvement They meet the provider's academic and English entry requirements They are living outside of Australia at the time of applying They are not already living, and have never lived, in the Northern Territory They are not studying with a Northern Territory provider at the time of applying They have received a valid visa (international student visa subclass 500) They do not hold another scholarship (except the CDU Global Merit Scholarship) They are not an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or an Australian permanent resident They are planning to study full-time They understand the Obligations listed for the scholarship Information Requested A Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) must be provided with the application Two recent referee letters must be supplied, no older than 24 months where possible How to Apply Applications for VET, ELICOS, and school students are accepted until 1 May 2027. Applications must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to arriving in Australia.
