About this tender
Overview Rio Tinto Limited is seeking expressions of interest from Contractors to provide General Services for the Kangwinan Project. About The Kangwinan Project is located in the vicinity of Norman Creek, Cape York Peninsula, approximately 60 km south of Weipa. A bauxite processing plant will be constructed on the southern side of Norman Creek and the product will be transported approximately 15 km south-east via overland conveyor to the existing Amrun stockyard. Key scoping items for the Project include a new 19Mtpa crushing and beneficiation plant, a camp expansion, a new overland conveyor, water supply, a wharf, and stockyard expansion, together with significant water infrastructure and earthworks scope. Scope The General Services Contractor is responsible for providing and managing all site-wide support services required to establish, operate, maintain, and demobilise the project. The scope includes: Mobilisation and demobilisation of personnel, plant, equipment, temporary works, and services Obtaining permits and approvals, and installing temporary barriers, barricades, signage, fencing, and traffic management systems Construction and maintenance of project access roads, drainage systems, erosion and sediment controls, and dust suppression measures Management of temporary utilities including construction power, potable water, wastewater, fuel storage and distribution, and associated monitoring and reporting Testing and maintenance of electrical equipment, generators, light plants, vehicles, and company-supplied assets Operation and maintenance of water treatment plants (WTP), sewage treatment plants (STP), potable water systems, and wastewater collection services Waste management services, including skip bin distribution, collection, processing, disposal coordination, and operation of waste processing facilities Logistics support, including material handling, warehousing, laydown area operations, freight cartage, terminal operations, and cross-river transfers Provision of warehouse personnel, transport services, and maintenance of staging yards and laydown facilities Delivery of site facility services including cleaning, pest control, crib and ablution facilities, fire equipment maintenance, and facility decommissioning Coordination with external service providers for waste, water, sewage, and bulk fuel supply Environmental management activities such as weed wash operations, heritage area protection, rehabilitation of disturbed areas, and maintenance of environmental controls Establishment, upgrade, and maintenance of project hardstands, laydown areas, and supporting infrastructure In summary, the General Services Contractor provides the essential infrastructure, logistics, utilities, environmental, and operational support services required for the safe and efficient delivery of the project. Contractor Requirements The Contractor shall comply with all applicable Rio Tinto Standards, Australian and local regulations, statutory requirements, and Australian codes and standards as specified in the detailed scope of work provided to Bid participants Expressions of interest are being sought from Contractors who can complete the whole scope of works, and may also be submitted for all or part of the scope of works described Local and Indigenous businesses are encouraged to participate Information Requested Interested parties should provide the following: A Company Capability Statement Details specific to capability and experience A list of similar major projects completed or in progress, detailing the required operational safety standards
