Overview The Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA) is inviting prequalification for the Barlow Park Stadium Upgrade (the Project). About GIICA is laying the foundations for the Games of the XXXV Olympiad 2032 and the 2032 Paralympic Games (the Games) and beyond. Established under Queensland legislation, GIICA is responsible for the planning, procurement, design, construction, commissioning, completion, and handover of a comprehensive infrastructure delivery program, spanning 17 new and upgraded sporting and community venues, known as the GIICA Authority Venues Program (the Program). GIICA is building a legacy that transcends the Games and provides the infrastructure Queensland needs for generations. This is done in careful consultation with the communities that will benefit. GIICA's projects aim to create better connected, healthier, more sustainable, and inclusive communities across the state. GIICA is committed to integrating nation-leading design and innovation, achieving best practice sustainability, inclusivity, and accessibility, and working closely with Traditional Custodians and First Nations Peoples to showcase 'Country-first' principles in its projects. Objectives Delivery of venues, providing a positive legacy for Queensland by maximising the use of new and upgraded infrastructure before, during, and after the Games Building transformational infrastructure that sets Queensland up for generations beyond the four weeks of sport Achieving a legacy that transcends the Games, leading Queensland to thrive as a globally recognised region, benefitting every community Leveraging industry innovation, tools, and design and construction expertise to deliver all aspects of the Program Cooperation and collaboration between GIICA and its industry partners Scope The Project is anticipated to include: A new western grandstand An integrated entry spine incorporating ticketing and entry facilities Retention of existing key infrastructure, including the berms, athletics track and field facilities, grassed field of play, rugby administration building, sports lighting, and videoboard Infrastructure to support Games overlay requirements, including broadcast capability, bump-in areas, and event-mode operations
