About this tender
Mount Isa City Council (MICC) invites suitably qualified and experienced consultants to submit a tender to develop a comprehensive business plan to assess and support the establishment of a commercial aquaponics enterprise in Mount Isa, Queensland. The objective of this consultancy is to determine the technical, commercial, environmental, planning, regulatory, and social viability of an aquaponics operation suited to the climatic, economic, and market conditions of the Mount Isa region. Following completion of this report the consultant will be required to complete a design of the Hydroponics and Aquaponics facility to enable a suitable proponent to build the facility using the design presented. Background information / Compatibility requirements The proposed site is located within Lot 90 on Survey Plan 237661, which overlaps with R48 Reserve within the Lake Moondarra Lake precinct approximately 20 kilometres North of Mount Isa. The site is north of Mount Isa, approximately 2.7km from the Barkly Highway and approximately 500m from the full lake level of the western side of Lake Moondarra.
