Overview Ports North is seeking a contractor to undertake maintenance and structural repair works to the Heritage Wharves at the Port of Cairns as part of the FY26 Heritage Wharves Maintenance program. About Ports North (the Principal) is a Queensland Government Owned Corporation (GOC) responsible for the development and management of the declared Ports of Cairns, Cape Flattery, Karumba, Mourilyan, Skardon River, Quintell Beach, Thursday Island, Burketown and Cooktown. Ports North's operations and facilities are vital to the economic development of the regional centres they service and the State's tourism and export performance. Wharves 1 to 5 and the Wharf 6 Taper in the Port of Cairns were constructed prior to 1915 and are heritage listed. The wharves have a long history of maintenance and repairs. As part of the ongoing Maintenance Strategy for the Heritage Wharves, multiple piles, beams and deck soffit areas have been identified as requiring structural repairs. Scope The scope includes: Implementation of all Project Management Plans and insurances necessary for the works (WH&S, QA, EMP, TMP, Program) Provision of appropriate access and environmental controls, including containment measures Removal of degraded concrete by high pressure hydro-demolition Replacement of severely corroded reinforcement bars Reinstatement of concrete Application of silanes to the new concrete surfaces Provision of records and as-constructed information
