BBY - Berth 6 - New Access Bridge & RoRo Ramp Demolition

Overview Tasmanian Ports Corporation Pty Ltd (TasPorts) is seeking suitably qualified and experienced contractors to undertake the design and construction of a new Access Bridge and associated infrastructure, together with the decommissioning and demolition of the existing RoRo Ramp at Berth 6, Port of Bell Bay. About The project forms a key enabling component of the broader Bell Bay Shiploader Replacement Project, supporting the continued safe and efficient operation of TasPorts' woodchip export facility. The existing Access Bridge will remain for other operational purposes; however, a new Access Bridge located immediately east of the existing bridge is required to accommodate the replacement shiploader and associated future infrastructure. Scope The Works comprise two principal work components. 1. Access Bridge Construction Works Design, construction, testing, commissioning and handover of the new Access Bridge and associated infrastructure, including: Bridge foundations, piles, pile caps, abutments, approach structures and associated permanent works Trestle footings to support future elevated conveyor infrastructure Bridge approach pavement and associated pavement works Modifications required to interface with the existing wharf and surrounding infrastructure Relocation, protection, modification or reinstatement of affected existing services, utilities and infrastructure All temporary, ancillary and associated works required to provide a safe, fully functional and commissioned Access Bridge 2. RoRo Ramp Demolition Works Decommissioning, demolition and removal of the existing RoRo Ramp and associated infrastructure, including: Demolition and removal of the existing RoRo Ramp structure and associated components Supply and installation of two (2) new fender systems generally consistent with and compatible with the existing Berth 6 fender systems Relocation of the existing electrical distribution board Repurposing and relocation of two (2) existing 50 tonne bollards to nominated locations on Berth 6 Modification, relocation, protection, removal or reinstatement of affected services, utilities and infrastructure, including those required to remain operational Disposal, recycling or reuse of demolished materials Site reinstatement and all ancillary works required to leave the area safe, stable and serviceable The Works will be undertaken within an operational port environment and must be appropriately planned, staged and coordinated to minimise disruption to existing port and berth operations and maintain safe access and continuity of required services. TasPorts has developed concept designs representing its recommended solution for the Works. The concept designs are provided as a basis for the Tender and are intended to communicate TasPorts' functional and operational requirements. The successful Contractor will be responsible for developing the concept into a compliant detailed design, or proposing an appropriate alternative solution, and delivering the completed Works in accordance with the Principal's Project Requirements and associated Engineering and Technical Requirements. TasPorts reserves the right to award the Works as a single contract or as separate work packages, having regard to the tender evaluation and the best overall project delivery outcome.
