Stevedoring Services

Overview The Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water requires the establishment of a Deed of Standing Offer for the provision of stevedoring services to the AAD. The Supplier shall be required to provide stevedoring services primarily in the Port of Hobart for the RSV Nuyina and vessels on charter to the AAD prior to departure to and on return from Antarctic and sub-Antarctic stations. Scope The scope includes: Provision of all necessary cargo handling stevedoring equipment, mechanical aids, labour and consumables required for the safe and efficient loading and discharge of ships Provision, maintenance, repair and storage in Hobart of cargo handling equipment, as required Provision of off-wharf support for relevant cargo handling processing activities Periodic provision of services to an external party or agency on behalf of the AAD Periodic transportation of cargo from offsite facilities to wharf facilities prior to cargo being loaded on to vessels Periodic stevedoring support on Antarctic and sub-Antarctic voyages and at Antarctic and sub-Antarctic stations Other related services as agreed between the Parties in writing Service delivery requirements cover ABF and DAFF compliance, biosecurity screening, manifest checks, compliance with Marine Orders, gang and shift quoting and approval, vessel logs and Statements of Fact, and exclusive wharfage areas for AAD cargo. Contractor Requirements Potential Suppliers must be able to meet the requirements in Sections 2.1(a) to 2.1(c) of Schedule 1, covering equipment, labour and consumables, Hobart equipment storage, and off-wharf support Contract Terms and Conditions The Deed is anticipated to be for an initial term of five (5) years, commencing on 1 November 2026 and expiring on 31 October 2031 Two options to extend of three (3) years and two (2) years respectively, exercisable at the Commonwealth's sole discretion It is anticipated that the Deed of Standing Offer will take effect from 1 February 2027 Instructions to Tenderers The supply must be provided in accordance with the Statement of Requirement (SoR) in the ATM and subject to the terms and conditions set out in, or referred to, in ATM 26/1879 Stevedoring Services Lodgement is to be made via www.tenders.gov.au
