Sports stadiums space

New Sports Stadiums - Expressions of Interest Local sporting clubs and associations are invited to submit their requests for space at the new Armstrong Creek Sports Centre and Waurn Ponds Sporting Complex. OVERVIEW Armstrong Creek Sports Centre (ACSC) and Waurn Ponds Sporting Complex (WPSC) are two new state-of-the- art, multi-court community sports facilities being delivered to the Geelong community as part of the Regional Sports Infrastructure Program by the state government. On opening, the City of Greater Geelong will operate these venues as a part of its Swim Sport and Leisure network. We are currently seeking expressions of interest from local sporting clubs and associations who have interest in accessing the court space once the venues have opened. ACSC will open to the community in late 2026, with access to 4 multi-sport courts all marked for a range of sports including badminton, pickleball, volleyball, futsal, basketball and netball. WPSP will open in early to mid 2027. The six multi-sports courts will be a combination of line markings across the courts with a focus to netball and basketball, and opportunities for other sports to overflow from ACSC. Armstrong Creek Sports Centre Priorities of Use • Local sporting clubs and associations for under-represented or emerging sports (i.e. badminton, futsal, pickleball, table tennis and volleyball) • Targeted demographic cohort programs and activities (e.g. special needs groups, older adults, women’s programs, etc). • Participation based events that have regional significance. • Casual drop in and management programs that respond to potential gaps in community-based activities or excess content from other priorities. • Off peak usage.
