Annual Supply of Plant, Labour & Materials - Construction Works

Overview Bass Coast Shire Council is seeking to establish a register of approved Contractors and/or Hirers for the annual supply of plant, labour, and materials to support construction works, generally for road and drainage construction projects. About Bass Coast Shire is located approximately 100 kilometres south-east of Melbourne and covers some 865 square kilometres. It is one of the few local governments in the state to include an island, and it has a significant coastal boundary encompassing a rich rural hinterland of rolling hills. With diverse features and significant calendar events, the Shire attracts a large proportion of the State's tourists and holidaymakers. Bass Coast is one of Victoria's fastest growing rural municipalities, with a unique combination of unspoiled coastline and picturesque hinterland, less than two hours from Melbourne. Its main centres, Wonthaggi, Cowes, Inverloch, San Remo, and Grantville, service the local population and more than 3.4 million visitors who arrive in Bass Coast each year. During peak holiday periods, the population swells to over 70,000. Purpose Council has an extensive capital works program, which is increasingly growing from year to year. To fulfil its current and future work commitments, Council needs to hire additional day labour personnel and various items of plant to assist its Infrastructure Services Team in undertaking this work. Scope The scope includes: Supply of day labour personnel and/or select item(s) of plant with operator, as and when required, generally for road and drainage construction projects Supply of required personnel, plant, and other items to carry out assigned work in a responsive manner upon request Maintenance of the tendered inventory of plant and personnel during the currency of the contract to required standards Instructions to Tenderers Council intends to establish a limited register of approved Contractors. Submitted bids from successful Tenderers will provide Council with the information necessary to select the Contractor most suited to providing the appropriate personnel and/or plant for specific work assignments.
