BESIX Watpac have been engaged by CSIRO for the delivery of the CSIRO Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness - Part Life Refit, Stage 1 - The New Wing. The project will be delivered on a Design & Construct basis. CSIRO's Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP) is a high-biocontainment facility located in Geelong, Victoria. ACDP helps protect Australia's multi-billion-dollar livestock and aquaculture industries, and the general public, from emerging infectious disease threats by providing essential surveillance, detection and research activities. It is designed to allow scientific research into the most dangerous infectious agents in the world. The New Wing is built over 5-level's and includes 1,400 sqm high-containment BSL-3 laboratory spaces and all services to support and operate those spaces. Site works commence in July 2026 with expected completion in January 2029.
