Any Opportunities - Supply Chain Opportunities for Electric Bus Manufacturing in Victoria

Closes in 1395 daysClose date: 30 June 2030

About this tender

Currently, the Department of Transport and Planning is looking at transitioning the fossil-fuel bus fleet to electric buses over a transition period and will require more Bus manufacturers in Victoria to meet the state's ambitious goals. We are seeking EOIs from manufacturers of automotive products in the tier-two and tier-three supply chain who are interested in entering into a long-term arrangement to supply locally made components, such as seats, windows, and wiring looms, for a term of 10 years or more. The etender portal is working with interested Bus manufacturers now to set up in Victoria to assist in the transition. If your business is interested in supplying locally manufactured items to bus manufacturers, the portal is preparing an early EOI to share with manufacturers, both established and new entrants. As relevant project pages in this sector are published on Gateway, they will also be listed on this page. The Local Jobs First (LJF) policy may also apply to some of the listed projects upon their release. How to respond to this tender

A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.

Read the requirements in full

Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.

Confirm you are eligible and it is worth bidding

Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.

Answer every criterion with evidence

Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.

Lodge early through the official portal

Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
