Drainage Improvements - Farnsworth and View Street - Castlemaine

Overview Mount Alexander Shire Council (MASC) is seeking a contractor to undertake drainage improvement works at Farnsworth Street and View Street, Castlemaine, as part of its commitment to upgrading, maintaining and rehabilitating infrastructure in an efficient and timely manner. About The existing drainage network contains both overland and piped stormwater drainage. In 2022, Mount Alexander Shire experienced heavy rainfall resulting in localised flash flooding throughout the shire, with many areas identified for improved drainage. The stormwater catchment in Farnsworth Street is initially captured by the underground drainage network before it outfalls via an overland flow path towards View Street/Forest Street. Purpose The objective of this construction project is to improve the underground stormwater connection along a section of Farnsworth Street, View Street and Forest Street. Drainage designs have been completed for the drainage connection and kerb construction. Scope The scope includes: Construction of the underground stormwater drainage connection along a section of Farnsworth Street, View Street and Forest Street Kerb construction in accordance with the completed drainage designs
