About this tender
Overview Central Goldfields Shire Council is inviting expressions of interest from community groups to get involved in Energy Breakthrough (EB), a five-day educational program and event held annually in Maryborough, Victoria, from 18 to 22 November 2026. About Energy Breakthrough is the only educational program and event of its kind in Australia, engaging and attracting over 17,000 students, teachers and parents each year, with around 5,000 students from Grade 3 to Year 12 camping onsite. EB is an award-winning, high-profile community event operated by a small team of staff and a large volunteer workforce. By participating in EB, community groups can contribute to the event and gain fundraising support for their local group or club. Scope The scope includes the following community group opportunities: Barrier Set Up and Pack Up Set up of barriers on Track 1 (1.58 km street circuit) prior to Tuesday 17 November 2026 Track 1 will be used for all Trial events in 2026, including Secondary HPV, Primary HPV, Tryathlon and Energy Efficient Vehicle Pack down of barriers on Sunday 22 November 2026 Permanent Toilets and Showers Cleaning Cleaning and restocking of permanent toilets and showers across the Princes Park event site for the next one to three events Sustainability Pit Crew Support of EB's waste reduction initiatives, including a wash against waste system in partnership with food vendors, along with recycling and organics waste streams to divert waste from landfill Waste Collection Provision of a Waste Collection Team for the next one to three events Information Requested Interested community groups should download the relevant specification for the opportunity they wish to apply for, complete the pricing schedule contained within it, and attach the completed document to their application submitted through the online form.
