About this tender

Overview The Suburban Rail Loop Authority (VIC) is inviting general enquiries from suppliers, contractors, and consultants interested in providing goods and/or services to the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East Project, including the first two Alliance packages. About The Suburban Rail Loop Program will deliver a 90 km orbital rail line connecting every major railway line in Melbourne, as well as a connection to Melbourne Airport. SRL will provide a world-class, service-proven automatic metro system that sets new benchmarks for comfort, safety, and reliability for Melbourne. SRL will be delivered in four sections, the first of which is SRL East. SRL East is the first stage of the project, being delivered from Cheltenham to Box Hill, with 26 kilometres of twin tunnels connecting six new underground stations. Thoughtful planning for the broader neighbourhoods around each SRL East station will enable around 70,000 new homes to be built in these areas by the 2050s, on the doorstep of world-class public transport, services and jobs. The new rail line will connect major employment, health, education and retail destinations in Melbourne's east and south east, slashing travel times and connecting passengers travelling on the Gippsland corridor to destinations across Melbourne. The Project will provide job opportunities for thousands of Victorians. How to respond to this tender

A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.

Read the requirements in full

Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.

Confirm you are eligible and it is worth bidding

Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.

Answer every criterion with evidence

Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.

Lodge early through the official portal

Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
