Overview Watta Wella Project Co Pty Ltd is inviting contractors, suppliers, and service providers to register their interest in work opportunities associated with the Watta Wella Renewable Energy Project. The project is being developed by RES Australia and is progressing through design, procurement and delivery planning following receipt of planning approval in June 2026. About The Watta Wella Renewable Energy Project is being developed by RES Australia, one of the world's largest independent renewable energy companies with extensive experience in the development, construction and operation of renewable energy projects globally. Project Overview The Watta Wella Renewable Energy Project is located approximately 16 kilometres north-east of Stawell in north-west Victoria. The approved project comprises: Up to 45 wind turbine generators with an approved capacity of up to 360 MW A Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with a capacity of up to 400 MW / 1,600 MWh Internal access roads and hardstands Underground MV electrical reticulation Wind farm and BESS substations Operations and maintenance facilities Site compounds and associated civil infrastructure An approximate 2km overhead 220 kV transmission line The project is expected to generate enough renewable electricity to power approximately 200,000 Victorian homes while supporting regional economic development and employment opportunities throughout construction and operations. Scope RES anticipates a broad range of contracting and supply opportunities throughout the design, construction and operational phases of the project. Indicative opportunities may include, but are not limited to: Civil and Earthworks Bulk earthworks Site preparation Access track and hardstand construction Drainage and erosion control works Road upgrades and traffic management Quarry products and aggregate supply Concrete and Structural Works Concrete batching and supply Wind turbine foundation construction Reinforcement steel and anchor cage supply Structural steel fabrication Electrical and Renewable Energy Infrastructure Underground cable installation Electrical reticulation works Substation construction High-voltage electrical installation Communications infrastructure Construction Support Services Plant and equipment hire Heavy haulage and logistics Site facilities Fuel supply Security services Environmental management services Surveying and geotechnical services Operational Services Vegetation management Facility maintenance Asset inspection services Cleaning services Site security Operations and maintenance support Local and regional suppliers are strongly encouraged to register their interest. Contractor Requirements Interested suppliers should be able to demonstrate: Relevant experience delivering comparable services or products Strong safety systems and performance records Appropriate licences, certifications and insurances Financial capacity to undertake the proposed scope of work Compliance with applicable workplace, environmental and industrial relations requirements Commitment to First Nations participation, local employment and supplier diversity initiatives where applicable Ability to meet project schedules, quality standards and reporting requirements Preference may be given to suppliers that can demonstrate local capability, regional employment outcomes and previous experience working on major infrastructure, energy or renewable energy projects.
