About this tender

Rural City of Wangaratta (RCoW) is seeking a suitably qualified contractor to deliver pedestrian improvements on Ovens Street, Wangaratta. RCoW has been successful in receiving funding through the Safe Local Roads and Streets Program (SLRSP) to deliver safety improvements for pedestrians. The project aims to treat the length of Ovens Street between Cusack Street and Ford/Docker Street to reduce traffic speeds and improve safety, especially for pedestrians. Two wombat crossings are proposed at both ends of the project length. The crossings will be supported by a median and kerb outstands, to produce a 'road diet' and further encourage lower speeds along the project length. The school crossing outside St Patricks Primary School will be upgraded with kerb outstands. Enquiries All enquiries regarding this opportunity, including the Specification and contract terms and conditions are to be lodged via this tendering portal no later than 2pm on Thursday 23 July 2026. Questions lodged after this time will not be responded to. Submissions All responses must be lodged via this online e-Tendering Portal; submissions received via any other means (including hardcopy) will not be accepted, nor considered. Incomplete and late submissions will also not be considered. Tenderers must allow sufficient time to upload and submit all documentation, as the e-Tendering system will automatically lock at the Closing Date and Time preventing partially submitted responses from being completed. Please call 1800 377 628 if you have any trouble using this portal, including downloading or uploading submissions.

How to respond to this tender

A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.

Read the requirements in full

Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.

Confirm you are eligible and it is worth bidding

Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.

Answer every criterion with evidence

Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.

Lodge early through the official portal

Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
