About this tender
Overview The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority is seeking an experienced hospitality operator to establish and run a new café at Point Grey in Lorne, one of the Great Ocean Road's most visited tourism destinations. About The café is located within the popular Point Grey precinct overlooking Louttit Bay and the iconic pier. It is currently being constructed within the new CoOp building as part of the Point Grey redevelopment project, which is revitalising the whole precinct, including new landscaping, amenities and visitor experiences. Purpose The café will enhance the visitor experience at Point Grey, providing locals and visitors with a place to relax and enjoy refreshments while exploring, fishing or taking in panoramic ocean views. The successful operator will have the opportunity to activate the café space and provide a welcoming destination for visitors year-round, supporting tourism and creating local employment opportunities. Scope Establishment and operation of a new café at the Point Grey precinct, Lorne Delivery of high-quality food, beverage and customer service offerings to locals and visitors year-round Contractor Requirements Demonstrated capacity to deliver high-quality food, beverage and customer service offerings Tender Briefing and Site Inspection Attendance at one onsite inspection and briefing session is mandatory. Failure to attend an onsite inspection will render a submission ineligible. A site visit and attendance at the briefing are both prerequisites to submission and consideration of a bid. The premises is currently under construction and is an active work site. Those attending the onsite briefing will be required to undergo a site induction. Attendees must wear closed toe shoes (steel cap preferred) and are encouraged to bring other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as a Hi-Vis Vest and hardhat. Only key representatives from each applicant will be permitted to attend; large groups representing one applicant will not be permitted.
