Steel sourcing strategy - New Melton Hospital Project

Overview The Trustee for Exemplar Health (Melton) Trust has published a Steel Sourcing Strategy for the New Melton Hospital Project, setting out its approach to maximising the use of locally milled and locally fabricated processed steel. About Exemplar Health is committed to maximising opportunities for the use of locally milled and locally fabricated processed steel. To provide the local steel industry with visibility of project opportunities, Exemplar Health will utilise the Project's ICN Gateway. Purpose The strategy is intended to give the local steel industry visibility of project opportunities associated with the New Melton Hospital Project. Instructions to Tenderers Procurement Approach All steel for the project will be procured indirectly through supply and install subcontractors. Exemplar Health will include requirements for the maximisation of local steel within works package tender requirements. Periodic Review This Steel Sourcing Strategy will be updated annually. As design is preliminary and works packages containing steel will be tendered in the second half of 2025, an interim update will be provided in late Q2 2025. This interim revision will update information for the works packages to be released to market.
