SWTAFE F Building Mechanical Upgrade Project - RFT

Overview South West Institute of TAFE (SWTAFE) is seeking tender submissions from suitably qualified and experienced mechanical contractors for the replacement of HVAC infrastructure within F Building at SWTAFE's Warrnambool City Campus. Scope The successful contractor shall be appointed as the Head Contractor and will be responsible for the coordination and provision of all construction implementation, inclusive of all design/engineering and engagement with authorities, including but not limited to a Registered Building Surveyor. The successful contractor will need to allow for any required site investigations and existing infrastructure reviews, obtaining relevant approvals and sign-offs, and implementation of the final scope of works onsite. As part of the RFT process, a specification document and full design drawing set has been provided to tenderers. Tender Options have been outlined within tender schedule document TS01 Attachment 01 - Pricing Schedule, which must be completed as part of tender submissions to be considered a conforming tender. The high level scope includes but is not limited to: General responsibilities: Provide complete management, supervision, labour, plant, materials, and temporary works to deliver the mechanical upgrade in accordance with Tender drawings, specifications, demolition drawings, schedules, Section J and all applicable codes and Australian Standards Site establishment and safety arrangements: Establish site compound, amenities, fencing/hoardings, protections, temporary power/water, and security; arrange all permits and provide temporary ventilation/air-con arrangements, dust/noise controls, and temporary fire protection measures to maintain operations during works Demolition and strip out: Decommission and remove redundant mechanical plant and ductwork, and make good all affected surfaces (ceilings, walls, roof, waterproofing) ready for new works, including builder's works associated with mechanical services Structural, electrical and architectural interfaces: Provide certified structural shop drawings for platforms, penetrations, and supports; provide all electrical works required to power the new mechanical system main switchboard and mechanical switchboards, and associated cabling and labelling along with test results Mechanical systems supply and installation: Supply and install all selected equipment per the design, including ductwork, pipework, louvres and weather hoods, and balancing provisions Testing, commissioning, documentation, quality assurance, as-built drawings and handover Contractor Requirements Suitably qualified and experienced mechanical contractor Ability to be appointed as Head Contractor, responsible for coordination and provision of all construction implementation, including design/engineering and engagement with authorities, including but not limited to a Registered Building Surveyor Instructions to Tenderers Key Dates (indicative only) ATN Release Date: 10th August 2026 ATN Close Date: 17th August 2026 RFT Open Date: 21st August 2026 RFT Close Date: 11th September 2026 Contract Award: 25th September 2026 (indicative) Tender Queries and Addenda SWTAFE requests that tender queries be lodged via the Buying for Victoria Portal online forum prior to 5:00pm AEST on 4th September 2026, so that every tenderer has the opportunity to be provided the same response and information.
