Overview Alpine Shire Council is seeking quotations from suitably qualified and experienced landscape architecture and playground design consultants to prepare the detailed design and tender documentation for the proposed Tawonga Playground Expansion. About The project progresses Stage 1C of the adopted Alpine Better Places Tawonga Concept Plan (2021), which identified the expansion of the existing playground as a key community priority following extensive consultation with local residents and stakeholders. The existing playground is a valued community asset serving local families, visitors and the broader Kiewa Valley community. Community feedback identified limitations in its size, accessibility and diversity of play opportunities. Purpose The project has received funding through the Victorian Government's Tiny Towns Fund – Round 3, with the purpose of progressing the project from an adopted concept to a fully developed, construction-ready design package suitable for future capital funding. Objectives The proposed expansion aims to deliver a contemporary, inclusive and engaging regional playground that reflects the character of Tawonga and supports the township's growing population and visitor economy.
