Expression of Interest (EOI) – Civil Works Panel

Overview Synergy (WA) is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified contractors to establish a panel providing civil construction services across its generation assets. About Synergy's thermal generation business unit (TGBU) is responsible for its coal, gas and distributed electricity generating assets. TGBU's priority is to create and sustain a safe environment for its people. TGBU is made up of four primary operating units: Coal generation: responsible for providing safe, reliable and sustainable energy to the people of WA through efficient management and operation of coal generating assets. The fleet includes Muja power station, Synergy's largest station, consisting of 2 generating units producing a total of 440 MW and employing permanent and contractor personnel, and Collie power station, a single generating unit producing a total of 317 MW owned by Synergy and operated under an operating and maintenance contract Gas generation: specialists in the operation and maintenance of highly automated generating plant, managing a portfolio of generating units fuelled by gas, wind and steam. The portfolio comprises open cycle gas turbines, wind turbines and one combined cycle station, spread over an area from Kwinana to Coral Bay in the north, Kalgoorlie in the east and Bremer Bay in the south Thermal asset optimisation (TAO): turns corporate strategy into tangible outcomes for the generation portfolio, seeking to maximise sustainable returns from all TGBU power generation assets by analysing plant performance to deliver practical recommendations for business performance improvement. TAO is responsible for developing and maintaining fleet asset lifecycle plans, works closely with site teams and across business units to achieve TGBU and Synergy objectives, and provides technical support to market rules reform, regulation and compliance committees Thermal projects: responsible for executing capital, sustaining and operating projects in TGBU whilst maintaining project management governance and portfolio reporting Purpose To support ongoing maintenance and operational improvement activities, Synergy intends to establish a panel of suitably qualified contractors to provide civil construction services across its generation assets, providing a streamlined mechanism for engaging contractors as requirements arise. Scope The Contractor shall provide labour, supervision, plant, equipment, materials, tools and technical expertise necessary to safely execute civil works activities across Synergy's generation portfolio. The Contractor may be engaged to provide one or more of the following civil construction services, including but not limited to: Earthworks construction and maintenance, including excavation, trenching, filling, compaction and site preparation works; stormwater, road, pavement, asphalt and access infrastructure; retaining structures, erosion control measures, bunds and dams; drainage, bund, dam, pond and containment infrastructure; dredging, sediment removal, materials handling and transportation; and survey, set-out, underground service location and identification Concrete construction and maintenance, including concrete repairs, remediation, reinforcement and preservation work; site preparation, formwork and concrete construction activities; slabs, foundations, pads, pits, culverts and associated structures; and piling, ground support and retaining structures Structural steel construction and maintenance, including structural steel fabrication, installation, modification and repair works; handrail, access platform, walkway and stair installation and repair; fencing, gates, bollards, barriers and site access infrastructure; and structural steel remediation, galvanising and protective coating services Piping construction and maintenance, including fabrication, installation, modification and repair of polyethylene (PE), fibreglass reinforced plastic (FRP/GRP) and/or non-pressure steel pipework systems; and associated valves, fittings, supports, testing and commissioning Enquiries Contact: Abhishek Sharma Phone: (08) 62827344 Email: abhishek.sharma1@synergy.net.au
