Scope of Work Rio Tinto is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified supplier/s for the supply and lifecycle support of the Apron Feeder fleet across Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) operations in the Pilbara, Western Australia. The current fleet comprises approximately 110 apron feeders installed across multiple mine sites. The scope may include, but is not limited to: Supply of new apron feeders Supply of spare parts and components On-site maintenance support Off-site repairs and refurbishment (OSR) Major overhauls and change-outs Engineering support and technical services Inspection, condition monitoring and reliability improvement initiatives Installation and commissioning support Emergency breakdown support Training and continuous improvement activities Rio Tinto's preference is to engage one supplier capable of delivering the full scope. However, we are also open to alternative delivery models where the scope is split between specialist suppliers, for example: Suppliers responding to this EOI should clearly identify which elements of the scope they are capable of delivering, their relevant experience, Australian support capability, and any value-added services or innovations that could improve safety, reliability, lifecycle performance and total cost of ownership. Please complete the attached EOI questionnaire and upload any supporting documentation you believe is relevant to demonstrate your company's capability and experience in delivering the requested scope. Suppliers shortlisted through this Expression of Interest (EOI) process will be invited to participate in the next stage of the sourcing process, which will comprise a formal Request for Proposal (RFP). Indicative Timeline EOI Release: Q3 2026 RFP and Evaluation: Q4 2026 Contract Award and Execution: Q1 2027 Please note that these dates are indicative only and may be subject to change. Further Notification This scope of work is a summary description of goods and/or services that may be required by Rio Tinto and may be subject to change in Rio Tinto’s absolute discretion. Your business capability statement, as stored on your portal profile, may be downloaded and referenced when the responses to the expression of interest are reviewed. It is recommended that Suppliers review the portal business details section to ensure all information, including contact email address, annual turnover and employee numbers, is current and accurate. As this is an Expression of Interest (EOI) only, the specifics of the package of work relating to breadth of scope, location and timing may be subject to change. If successful, the Supplier/s will be notified of any changes prior to award.
A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.
Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.
Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.
Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.
Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
