Overview The City of Fremantle is seeking to engage a suitably qualified contractor to deliver integrated landscape and drainage upgrade works at Samson Park (Sir Frederick Samson Memorial Reserve). About The City of Fremantle is a local government authority located 20km south of the Perth CBD, comprising the suburbs of Beaconsfield, Fremantle, Hilton, North Fremantle, O'Connor, Samson, South Fremantle and White Gum Valley. The Town of Fremantle Council was founded in 1871 and gained city status in 1929. The City employs more than 400 people and services approximately 30,000 residents over a land area of 19 square kilometres. The City has a strong focus on responsible social, economic and environmental management, becoming WA's first carbon neutral city in 2009. In September 2014, Fremantle became one of only two councils in Australia to achieve national One Planet certification for sustainability. The City also has a strong focus on arts and culture, owning and running the Fremantle Arts Centre and festivals including the Fremantle Festival, Australia's oldest festival. Scope The scope includes: Drainage upgrades at Samson Park (Sir Frederick Samson Memorial Reserve) Landscaping works at Samson Park (Sir Frederick Samson Memorial Reserve) In-ground irrigation installation Associated improvements at Samson Park (Sir Frederick Samson Memorial Reserve) Contractor Requirements A single suitably qualified contractor with a landscape-led approach Supported by either an in-house civil capability or a nominated civil subcontractor Site Inspection Attendance at the mandatory Site Briefing is required for all respondents.
