Tender Overview
About this tender
Overview Canberra Health Services (CHS) is seeking a service provider to undertake an independent review of the ACT's nurse-led Walk-in Centre (WiC) model. About CHS operates a network of nurse-led Walk-in Centres across the ACT at Belconnen, Tuggeranong, Gungahlin, Weston Creek and Dickson. The WiCs provide free care for people with minor illness and injury and form part of the ACT's urgent and primary healthcare system. CHS and the Health and Community Services Directorate will provide reasonable assistance to the successful Service Provider, including access to available operational, financial, workforce and activity data, relevant reports and nominated subject matter experts, subject to applicable privacy, confidentiality, security and governance requirements. Purpose The ACT Government, through CHS, is commissioning this independent review following a motion passed by the ACT Legislative Assembly on 24 February 2026 calling for a comprehensive evaluation of the service. The review is not intended to support any predetermined outcome. It requires an objective assessment of the current and future role of WiCs and may identify opportunities for continuation, modification, expansion, consolidation or alternative service delivery approaches, supported by evidence and analysis. Scope The scope includes: Undertaking an independent, evidence-based review of the ACT Nurse-led Walk-in Centre model Providing robust, practical and implementable recommendations regarding the future role of WiCs within the ACT health system Supporting the review with appropriate project governance arrangements, project planning, stakeholder engagement, quality assurance processes, reporting mechanisms and risk management practices Enquiries Contact: Tenders ACT Team Phone: +61 (02) 62079000 Email: tendersact@act.gov.au
How to respond to this tender
A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.
Read the requirements in full
Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.
Confirm you are eligible and it is worth bidding
Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.
Answer every criterion with evidence
Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.
Lodge early through the official portal
Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
