Overview IP Australia is seeking a Senior Back End/AI/ML Software Engineer (Developer) to join the Business Delivery Services section as part of the AI Factory team, contributing to the application of emerging technologies and innovative approaches to help further the agency's vision through the delivery of software systems. The Role The role involves writing and delivering software components alongside data scientists, machine learning engineers, business analysts and subject matter experts, providing important capability to IP Australia and its customers. Role Requirements The ideal candidate will have an interest in emerging technologies and demonstrated experience as a software developer delivering production capabilities as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including: Proven experience with Agile delivery practices Experience delivering solutions using the AWS platform, with a strong emphasis on Serverless applications Experience with DevOps practices The ability to work autonomously under broad direction Excellent communication skills Required experience Infrastructure-as-Code, preferably AWS CDK Python AWS, particularly Serverless application delivery CI/CD tools (AWS Code Pipelines) Desirable experience JavaScript and/or TypeScript Vue.js AI, Machine Learning and MLOps Instructions to Tenderers During the evaluation stage, shortlisted suppliers may be invited to participate in interviews. IP Australia retains the right to seek verbal or written feedback from referees and may enter into negotiations to obtain the Best and Final Offer (BAFO) from selected suppliers. Should a provider modify any specified resources or business operations, the Commonwealth also reserves the authority to conduct a comprehensive review of personnel prior to finalising the contract. Please note that IP Australia will not be extending this opportunity to any additional Sellers.
