Advance Notice - ACCO-led Domestic Family Violence program for Aboriginal men who use violence

Overview This is an advance notice from Corrective Services NSW, part of the Department of Communities and Justice (NSW), which is seeking a provider to deliver a culturally responsive domestic and family violence intervention program for Aboriginal men in custody. The service will be targeted to identified correctional centres based on Aboriginal male offender population, domestic and family violence offending profiles and operational need. Objectives The program aims to: Address domestic and family violence offending behaviours Strengthen participants' understanding of healthy and respectful relationships Support culturally informed approaches to behaviour change Strengthen connection to culture, identity, family and community as protective factors Provide culturally safe and appropriate program delivery for Aboriginal participants Contribute to reduced risk of reoffending and improved reintegration outcomes Support continuity of care through appropriate referral and transition pathways Scope Corrective Services NSW is seeking a suitably qualified provider to deliver culturally safe, evidence-informed interventions that address domestic and family violence offending behaviours and support positive behaviour change. The scope includes: Delivery of the program to eligible Aboriginal men at identified NSW correctional centres Culturally safe and responsive program delivery that recognises Aboriginal culture, identity, family and community Participant engagement and support throughout program delivery Delivery by appropriately qualified and culturally capable personnel Collaboration with Corrective Services NSW staff and relevant stakeholders to support program delivery Appropriate referral and support pathways for participants Monitoring of participation, completion and agreed program outcomes Provision of required program, performance and outcome reporting to Corrective Services NSW Service locations will be determined according to identified need, Aboriginal male offender populations, domestic and family violence offence profiles and operational requirements.
