About this tender

We're inviting food stall holders, food trucks or food vans to express interest in being part of Wollongong City Council's New Year's Eve and Australia Day community events. Both events will be held at Wollongong Harbour and will include a range of main course and dessert food options, family friendly entertainment and activities, concluding with a 9pm fireworks display. You can apply to be part of one or both of these events. Event dates - New Year's Eve celebrations - Thursday 31 December 2026 from 5pm - 9pm - Australia Day community event - Tuesday 26 January 2027 from 5pm - 9pm Fees Fees will be based on the size of your marquee, truck, trailer or van as shown below. Size Fee 3m x 3m $150 6m x 3m $195 7m x 4m $250 Please note that power is not provided. You will need to provide your own silenced generator. Selection criteria When considering applications, we will look at: The type of food offering proposed. Whether your business is locally based. Vendors from outside the area may still apply, but you must have a Wollongong Temporary or Mobile Food Permit Number. Past performance at Council events, if applicable. How to apply You will also need to attach copies of the following to your application: Public Liability Insurance Food Safety Supervisor Certificate Wollongong Temporary or Mobile Food Permit Number Photos of your food stall / truck. Applications are open until 5pm, Friday 7 August 2026. What happens next Completing an application does not automatically guarantee a spot at these events. All applications will be reviewed in August 2026. We will contact successful applications with an offer for a position at the event/s. We will keep all applications on file and may contact suitable vendors if Council requires food vendors for other events throughout the year.
