Overview The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (NSW) is seeking a contractor for the construction and upgrade of the lower Dead Horse Gap Walking Track in Kosciuszko National Park, including walking track, steps, drainage and timber infrastructure works. Objectives Renew and improve the lower Dead Horse Gap Walking Track to provide a durable, high-quality walking experience Reduce erosion and environmental degradation through improved track surfaces and drainage Improve public and worker safety through upgraded track infrastructure and appropriate drainage and access Improve the resilience and longevity of the track to better withstand high visitation and alpine conditions Deliver track infrastructure consistent with the standard of recent upgrades to the alpine and upper sub-alpine sections Scope The scope includes: Site mobilisation and demobilisation Construction of approximately 350m of new rock paved track Construction of approximately 1,650m of new gravel walking track surface Construction of new stone and timber steps where required Reinstatement of timber platforms and edging where required Installation of drainage infrastructure as directed Logistic arrangements to coordinate aircraft operations for delivery of materials to site (NPWS will arrange the aircraft) Remediation of any damaged areas Contractor Requirements The Contractor must have the capacity to complete the scope of works in compliance with the Principal's specifications Contract Terms and Conditions Works must be completed by the end of May 2027 Tender Briefing A mandatory pre-tender meeting will be held for this opportunity.
