Overview Cabonne Council is seeking a contractor to design and construct upgrades to the gravity raw water pipeline that forms part of the Molong Water Supply System, connecting Molong Creek Dam to the Molong Water Treatment Plant. About The gravity main from Molong Creek Dam to the Molong Water Treatment Plant is a key component of the Molong Water Supply System. Sections of this pipeline were constructed in 1920, with various sections added or replaced over time. This gravity pipeline is critical for the continued operation and security of the Molong Water Supply System. Purpose Cabonne Council has been investigating options to: Improve water security and drought resilience Ensure the availability of supply from the Molong Creek Dam to meet current and future town water demand Provide Molong, Cumnock and Yeoval with secure water supply to support the development of these centres Scope The scope includes: Replacement of a 9,300m section of the Molong Creek Dam to Molong Water Filtration Plant gravity raw water pipeline, from a point known as Peter's Pit to a point known as Gabb's Pit; this section of the existing pipeline includes single and parallel pipes of various sizes and lengths Interconnection of the new pipeline to the existing pipeline/pipelines at Peter's Pit and Gabb's Pit Reconnection of existing customer services to the new pipeline Decommissioning of the existing pipeline/pipelines
