About this tender
Overview Kiama Municipal Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from experienced operators, event organisers and creative practitioners to deliver a summer activation at Old School Flat, located on the Kiama Harbour Foreshore. About This is an opportunity to create a temporary experience during the peak December to January holiday period across the 2026/27, 2027/28 and 2028/29 summer seasons. While carnivals and circuses will be considered, Council is particularly interested in proposals that celebrate Kiama's coastal character and create memorable experiences for residents and visitors. Old School Flat is a waterfront site adjacent to Kiama Harbour and the town centre. Scope The scope includes: Delivery of a temporary activation of up to 21 days (including bump-in and bump-out) at Old School Flat Activation during the peak December to January holiday period, across the 2026/27, 2027/28 and 2028/29 summer seasons Providing a safe, engaging and welcoming experience for the community and visitors Bringing the space to life, creating activity, attracting visitors and fostering community participation Celebrating Kiama's iconic foreshore and coastal identity Examples of suitable activations Festivals and special events Outdoor cinema or immersive experiences Cultural, creative and performance-based programs Curated markets and pop-up experiences Family-focused entertainment and recreation Wellness and sporting activities Hybrid concepts combining the above Contract Terms and Conditions A preferred operator may be appointed for up to three summer seasons, subject to annual licence agreements, approvals and satisfactory performance How to Apply Before submitting an application, applicants should read the EOI Information Pack (PDF, 4MB).
