About this tender
Overview Moree Plains Shire Council is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from community groups, individuals, organisations and experienced event or market operators to coordinate and manage the Moree Jellicoe Park Markets. The markets are held on the first Sunday of every month, with the exception of January when no market is held, and two markets held in December. The successful contractor will be responsible for the planning, promotion, coordination and administration of the monthly markets, ensuring the event continues to provide a welcoming experience for stallholders and attendees. Scope The scope includes: Developing and implementing a marketing and promotional strategy to attract stallholders and visitors Coordinating market operations, including site allocation, stallholder bookings and fee collection Liaising with Council, stallholders, entertainers and other stakeholders Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, Council policies and safety requirements Preparing and implementing risk management plans and ensuring the event operates in a safe and professional manner Managing the day-to-day administration of the markets to deliver a successful, welcoming and sustainable community event Overseeing the day-to-day operation of each monthly market Setting up and packing away market signage and flags Opening and securing the required power boxes before and after each market Managing the bi-monthly rotation of stallholder site allocations Coordinating the onboarding and placement of new stallholders Acting as the primary liaison between stallholders and Moree Plains Shire Council Ensuring stallholders comply with the Market Terms and Conditions and all relevant Council requirements Serving as the first point of contact for enquiries from prospective and existing stallholders, members of the public and other stakeholders Maintaining accurate records relating to market operations, attendance and stallholder participation Preparing and submitting a written quarterly report to Council outlining market performance, attendance, financial outcomes, operational issues and any recommendations for continuous improvement The Market Coordinator is expected to perform all duties in a professional, organised and customer focused manner, contributing to the ongoing growth, sustainability and success of the Moree Jellicoe Park Markets.
