About this tender
Overview Murrumbidgee Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from individuals, businesses and organisations interested in operating the Coleambally Swimming Pool and/or Darlington Point War Memorial Swimming Pool for the 2026/27 season. Applicants may express interest in providing Pool Attendant Services, Kiosk Operations, or both. About Council pools offer free entry to all patrons. The pools are open Tuesday to Friday, with fob access by patrons between 6:00 am and 10:00 am (pool attendant not required) and pool attendant coverage required from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The pools are open Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and closed Mondays. Coleambally Swimming Pool, located on Falcon Road, Coleambally, includes a 25-metre lap and recreational pool, a shaded medium pool, a shaded toddler's pool, change rooms, and shaded picnic tables and BBQ facilities. Darlington Point War Memorial Swimming Pool, located on Stock Street, Darlington Point, includes a 25-metre lap and recreational pool, a shaded medium pool, a shaded toddler's pool, a kiosk, a table tennis area, change rooms, and shaded picnic tables and BBQ facilities. A splash park adjacent to the Darlington Point pool is managed separately by Council. The Jerilderie Swimming Pool is currently under contract and is not included in this Expression of Interest process. Scope Pool Attendant Services Opening and closing the facility Undertaking daily water testing in accordance with public health guidelines Maintaining chemical levels according to public health guidelines Reporting all incidents and maintenance requirements to Council Cleaning the facilities, including the grounds and amenities, pools and ancillary amenities such as seating and concourse area Maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patrons Working cooperatively with the Kiosk Operator where the kiosk and pool operations are managed by separate entities Providing friendly and professional customer service to patrons Promoting the pool on the respective Facebook swimming pool page and following Council's Media and Social Media Policy and Code of Conduct Complying with all Council policies and procedures Kiosk Operations Opening and closing the kiosk during agreed operating hours Providing friendly and professional customer service to patrons Preparing and selling food, beverages and other approved items Maintaining appropriate food handling and hygiene standards at all times Ensuring the kiosk is kept clean, tidy and well-presented Managing stock levels and arranging the purchase of stock as required Operating and balancing cash registers and EFTPOS facilities Complying with all relevant food safety, workplace health and safety and regulatory requirements Reporting maintenance issues, incidents and safety concerns to Council Complying with all Council policies and procedures Working cooperatively with the Pool Attendant contractor where the kiosk and pool operations are managed by separate entities Contractor Requirements First Aid Certificate Valid Working With Children's Check Council will arrange and fund any required First Aid, CPR and other mandatory training for successful contractors who do not currently hold the necessary qualifications. Contract Terms and Conditions The season will run from 1 November 2026 to 31 March 2027, with an option to renew at Council's discretion A fixed management fee of $52,000 per pool complex will be paid to successful Pool Attendant contractors, with Council covering all pool chemical and maintenance costs No management fee is payable for kiosk operations, however kiosk operators retain all income generated through kiosk sales How to Apply Applicants are encouraged to review the Expression of Interest Guidelines before submitting an application.
