About this tender

PROJECT: This work involves design and construction of a new bridge over Carabost Creek on Eight Mile Rd 500m west of Humula. The tender will also include the removal of the existing bridge and reinstatement of the road realignment of the Eight Mile Rd starting from and including Carabost Rd and Eight Mile Rd Intersection to Downfall Rd and Eight Mile Rd intersection as well as all the disturbed area. Council has assessed the service level required of the bridge and decided that the deck level for the new bridge should be similar or slightly higher than the existing timber deck level, and provide 7.0m clear traffic width. A new bridge should be approximately 40m long, ideally with 3 spans (assuming vertical abutments) with the central span being as long as economically viable to provide the largest opening for flood flows in the creek. The bridge should provide 7m clear carriageway width. After the existing bridge is removed rock fill should be placed across the creek at bed level, slightly upstream of the new bridge so that an excavator can enter the creek to remove any future flood debris. SITE MEETING: A pre-tender briefing will be held on Tuesday 30th June 2026 commencing at 10:30AM at the site. Registration to attend the briefing can be made via email procurement@wagga.nsw.gov.au.

How to respond to this tender

A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.

Read the requirements in full

Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.

Confirm you are eligible and it is worth bidding

Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.

Answer every criterion with evidence

Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.

Lodge early through the official portal

Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
