About this tender

Overview City of Canterbury Bankstown is seeking qualified and experienced contractors to manage and undertake the manual segregation of green waste at the Kelso Waste Management Centre (KWMC) using onsite available machinery. About Council operates the Kelso Waste Management Centre (KWMC), which includes a landfill, a recycling yard for storage, and a green waste receival and segregation area. Incoming green waste across the LGA is tipped and manually segregated prior to offsite transportation to a licensed composting facility. The facility operates under two licences, EPL 4606 Landfill and EPL 12752 Recycling Yard. The green waste hardstand is constructed from crushed bituminous material and is used for decontaminating Council's domestic green waste collection. Green waste as collected is not suitable for composting due to high levels of contamination with mixed household garbage. Green waste is tipped at the site, and any mixed waste is removed manually prior to the segregated green waste being loaded into semitrailers for carting to a composting facility, SoilCo. The hardstand is heavily trafficked, with up to 8 domestic collection vehicles and 3 semitrailers being serviced each day. A bobcat is used to move the green waste around on the platform, and a front-end loader is used to load the semitrailers. The hardstand is bordered on the south and north by access roads servicing other parts of the site. Scope The scope includes: Provision of labour and day-to-day operational management of green waste segregation activities at the Kelso Waste Management Centre Manual segregation of incoming green waste, including removal of mixed waste prior to loading segregated green waste into semitrailers for transport to a composting facility Ensuring that all incoming green waste is appropriately segregated prior to transport to an approved offsite composting facility Tender Briefing A non-compulsory briefing will be held for this opportunity. Date: Tuesday 8th September 2026 Time: 10:00 AM Location: Kelso Waste Management Centre, 217 Bransgrove Road, Panania, NSW

How to respond to this tender

A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.

Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.

Confirm you are eligible and it is worth bidding

Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.

Answer every criterion with evidence

Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.

Lodge early through the official portal

Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
