About this tender
Overview MidCoast Council is seeking an experienced scrap metal recycling contractor for a five-year contract to purchase, collect, transport, sort, process and lawfully recycle or sell ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal and used lead-acid batteries. Scope The scope includes: Purchase, collection, transport, sorting, processing and lawful recycling or sale of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal Purchase, collection, transport, sorting, processing and lawful recycling or sale of used lead-acid batteries Compliant on-site refrigerant recovery and degassing of refrigerators, freezers and air-conditioning equipment prior to collection as scrap Contract Terms and Conditions Contract term of five years Standard collection requests must commence within three weeks A limited number of urgent collection requests must commence within one week The Contractor will pay Council an agreed fixed percentage of the applicable published market benchmark for each material category
