The project involves the renewal of the existing passenger lift located within the Muswellbrook Marketplace facility. The existing lift is more than 20 years old and has reached the end of its operational life. In recent years, it has experienced frequent breakdowns, extended downtime, and increasing maintenance requirements, resulting in reduced reliability and higher operational costs. Technicians engaged to service the lift have advised that significant investment is required to restore long-term reliability and compliance. Through this Request for Tender (RFT), Council is seeking submissions from suitably qualified contractors for either: Option 1 – Modernisation of the existing lift system; or Option 2 – Complete removal disposed and replacement with a new machine-room-less (MRL) lift. Council will evaluate both options to determine which solution provides the best overall value, considering technical compliance, whole-of-life cost, operational performance, reliability, maintainability, project delivery, and long-term asset outcomes. The project forms part of Council's broader asset renewal program to improve accessibility, reliability and operational continuity across Council-managed facilities
A strong tender response is clear, compliant, and backed by evidence. These steps apply to most Australian and New Zealand public tenders.
Open the official listing and download the full tender pack. Note the response schedules, evaluation criteria, mandatory conditions, and the exact closing time and lodgement method.
Check licences, insurances, certifications, and any conformance requirements before you commit. A quick bid or no-bid decision saves days of wasted effort on a tender you cannot win.
Respond to each evaluation criterion directly and back your claims with concrete examples, referees, and past performance. Address the buyer’s stated need, not a generic capability statement.
Submit through the source portal well before the deadline. Late or incorrectly lodged bids are almost always rejected, so leave time for uploads, portal errors, and last-minute questions.
