Overview The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (NSW) is seeking a suitably qualified contractor to undertake post-winter opening works on the Cabramurra to Khancoban Road (KNP5) in Kosciuszko National Park. About The Roads Team within the Southern Ranges Branch of the National Parks and Wildlife Service is the road manager for several seasonally closed roads within Kosciuszko National Park. These roads are closed from 10am on the Friday before the June long weekend and reopen at 10am on the Friday before the October long weekend each year. The roads need to be made trafficable and safe for reopening to the public prior to the October long weekend. The priority road is the Cabramurra to Khancoban (KNP5) Road, with a total length of 52.9 km. Scope The scope includes returning the seasonally closed Cabramurra to Khancoban Road to a safe condition prior to reopening to the public. The scope includes: Removal of snow drifts, fallen trees, rocks, soil and debris from the road surface Clearing of blocked table drains, pits, culvert inlets and outlets Straightening or replacement of warning signs, snow poles and guideposts as required Contract Terms and Conditions The successful contractor shall undertake the specified works on the Cabramurra to Khancoban Road annually for a period of five (5) years Tender Briefing A mandatory pre-tender briefing will be held for this opportunity.
