About this tender
Overview The Reserve Bank of Australia is seeking a suitably qualified respondent to provide Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) services for Stage 2 of the redevelopment of its Head Office building at 65 Martin Place. About The Bank's Head Office building at 65 Martin Place was originally constructed in 1964, with subsequent extensions and refurbishments. It has been more than 25 years since a major upgrade to the building's infrastructure. The project will be delivered in two stages: Stage 1: Remediation and Demolition (currently underway) Stage 2: Design and reconstruction of the RBA Head Office building at 65 Martin Place This tender is for the ESD Services for Stage 2. Purpose The redevelopment is intended to ensure the building continues to support the operations and functions of Australia's central bank and its staff at a high standard, and to comply with current building codes. Significant improvements are required to deliver upgrades that replace aging infrastructure, ensure a safe and healthy environment, and create a contemporary, connected and flexible workspace for staff. Objectives The Bank's objectives in sourcing the Supply are: To develop an environmentally sustainable design for the Building following a process that reflects the Bank's organisational values of Public Interest, Integrity, Excellence, Intelligent Enquiry and Respect, informing decision making, design quality, building performance, and project delivery outcomes To develop an environmentally sustainable design for the Building that embodies the RBA's commitment to openness, accountability and public trust while enabling the fitout of a modern, resilient and flexible workplace, with the redevelopment honouring the building's Modernist character and supporting the Bank's operational and civic role for the future To develop an environmentally sustainable design for the Building that aligns with the following project principles: Heritage: integrate and protect Commonwealth heritage values in accordance with DCCEEW and City of Sydney DA2 approvals; Sustainability: achieve the nominated NABERS, Green Star and Net Zero objectives; Asset Value: deliver a high quality, durable and maintainable building consistent with the nominated commercial standards and long-term asset performance; Value for Money: deliver a coordinated, buildable and efficient solution that supports whole-of-life value Scope Provision of ESD advisory services supporting and informing the preparation and development of the building design, as further described and outlined in section 3.2 and associated documents
