Overview Burwood Council is seeking sponsors for a series of community events and programs to be held across the Burwood local government area during 2026 and 2027, including the Lunar Lanes Festival, Christmas Carols in Burwood Park, Christmas in Croydon, Sponsor a Christmas Tree, the Burwood Art Prize, and the Greek Street Fair Burwood. Sponsorship Opportunities Lunar Lanes Festival 2027 Date: Saturday 13 February 2027 Time: 5pm to 10pm Attendees: 50,000 Social Media Reach: 1.5 million+ Lunar Lanes 2027 is Burwood's award-winning Lunar New Year celebration, transforming the Burwood Town Centre for the Year of the Goat with traditional and contemporary cultural celebrations, music, performance, art, food and creative experiences. Following the success of the 2026 event, which attracted more than 50,000 attendees and generated over 1 million digital impressions, the 2027 festival will feature an expanded program. With one in three Burwood residents speaking Mandarin, and a culturally diverse audience drawn from across Sydney, the event offers sponsors an opportunity to connect with a broad and engaged audience. This year's event will again include the Cambridge Christmas Markets, with a large selection of food and artisan stalls taking over Burwood Park. Sponsorship package available: Event Sponsor: $5,000 Christmas in Croydon Date: Saturday 5 December 2026 Time: 6.30pm to 9.30pm Attendees: 1,500+ Christmas in Croydon transforms the cul-de-sac at the end of Paisley Lane into a public square celebrating Christmas, community and local heritage, following a successful debut in December 2024 that drew an estimated 1,500 attendees. The event features live music, dance performances and community choirs, and more than 30 local business shopfronts will be adorned with specially commissioned, hand-painted Christmas artworks. Sponsorship package available: Event Sponsor: $5,000 Sponsor a Christmas Tree Period: November 2026 to January 2027 Christmas Tree sponsors receive prominent onsite signage at the tree location, along with recognition across Council's social media platforms. Sponsorship packages available: Christmas Tree in Burwood Park (15m): $10,000 Christmas Tree in Railway Square (6m): $4,000 Christmas Tree in Croydon (6m): $2,500 Christmas Tree in Croydon Park (5.3m): $2,500 Burwood Art Prize 2027 Period: May to June 2027 Location: Burwood Community Hub Now in its ninth year, the Burwood Art Prize showcases Australia's best emerging and established artists. Open to all artists based in Australia, the Prize attracts 400+ entrants per year and exhibits up to 100 finalists across a growing number of artistic mediums, including painting, drawing, photography, small sculpture, video works, and works on paper and canvas. In 2025 the Prize was doubled to $20,000 through $10,000 in sponsorship, and for 2027 Council is again seeking a sponsor to contribute $10,000 towards the Major Burwood Art Prize, continuing its $20,000 value. Sponsors of the Burwood Local Prize Award or Burwood Youth Prize Award support a local or emerging artist and grow community participation in the arts. Sponsorship packages available: Burwood Art Prize: $10,000 (co-funded by Burwood Council) Burwood Youth Prize: $2,500 Burwood Local Prize: $2,500 Greek Street Fair Burwood Date: Saturday 14 November 2026 Time: 12pm to 9pm Attendees: 20,000+ Location: Railway Parade, Burwood Town Centre The Greek Street Fair Burwood transforms the Town Centre into a celebration of Greek heritage, traditional and contemporary music, food and fun, bringing together locals, visitors and the wider Greek community. The Fair features live bouzouki music, Greek dancing, traditional cuisine, market stalls, family activities and entertainment. The event is organised by Burwood Council in partnership with the Greek Orthodox Parish and Community of Burwood and District, Saint Nectarios.
