About this tender
Overview Woollahra Municipal Council, through Woollahra Libraries, is seeking a Sydney-based artist to design and paint an original artwork for the new Watsons Bay Street Library. About Past creative commissions can be seen throughout Woollahra Libraries. Scope The scope includes: Design and painting of an original artwork suitable for a three-dimensional, two-storey wooden Street Library Painting of the artwork using materials suitable for outdoor display, in accordance with painting guidelines from Australian Street Library Eligibility Applicant must be a Sydney-based artist Information Requested Artists expressing interest should provide: ABN or Statement by Supplier A quote for the cost of design, materials and labour, including painting of the Street Library A link to a portfolio or 1-2 recent work samples attached as PDF or PNG files A short introduction and details of any relevant experience Contractor Requirements Selection Expressions of interest will be assessed based on artistic style, suitability for purpose, budget, and alignment with Woollahra Libraries' brand and community. Contract Terms and Conditions A commission fee will be provided and confirmed once the brief and scope have been discussed and agreed with the selected artist The artwork may be used by Woollahra Libraries to promote the Street Library and Watsons Bay Library services Production timelines will be negotiated with the selected artist The Street Library will be delivered to the artist's studio for painting, unless the proposal includes a community workshop involving painting the Street Library onsite at Watsons Bay Library How to Apply Artists should email comminfo@woollahra.nsw.gov.au to express their interest. Expressions of interest will be reviewed as they are received, and close Wednesday, 30 September 2026, or earlier if the commission is filled.
