Overview Hunter Water Corporation is seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced consultant to deliver the concept and detailed design for the Wallsend Stormwater Channel Augmentation Project. The project focuses on improving flood mitigation outcomes within the Wallsend Central Business District (CBD) while enhancing the ecological, environmental, and community value of the Ironbark Creek corridor through the integration of nature-based solutions. Purpose The project aims to progress from options development and appraisal through to concept and detailed design, ensuring the preferred solution is technically robust, deliverable, and aligned with the project objectives, funding requirements, and stakeholder expectations. Scope The scope includes: Options development and appraisal for the Wallsend Stormwater Channel Augmentation Project Progression of the preferred solution through concept design and detailed design Investigations required to support design development Coordination with existing and proposed infrastructure, including bridge interfaces and service relocations Staging of works to enable ongoing operation of the system and timely delivery of outcomes Stakeholder coordination throughout the design process Delivery of supporting documentation necessary to achieve a construction-ready outcome Contractor Requirements Suitably qualified and experienced consultant capable of delivering technically robust and deliverable design outcomes Adoption of a collaborative and proactive approach, working closely with the Principal to balance flood performance, constructability, environmental enhancement, and long-term operational considerations Instructions to Tenderers A Pre-Tender Deed Poll and Conflict of Interest Declaration is a pre-requisite process that must be submitted by the Participant and approved by Hunter Water prior to the Participant receiving the Request for Tender (RFT).
