About this tender

Overview Coolamon Shire Council is inviting tenders for the winning and crushing of 20,000 cubic metres of ridge gravel at Williams Pit, Walleroobie Rd, 15.5kms south of Ardlethan. Scope The scope includes: Vegetation clearing at Williams Pit Stockpiling of topsoil Winning of ridge gravel by mechanical ripping using a bulldozer Crushing of ridge gravel Contractor Requirements Compliance with all requirements of the NSW Resources Regulator and Work Cover Safe Working Practices The Contractor must be the Quarry Manager for the term of the contract, hold a Practicing Certificate, and satisfy all requirements of Tier 2 quarry operation A Safety Management Plan, including Safe Work Method Statements, must be included with the tender The Safety Management Plan must include a copy of Practicing Certificate qualifications Safe Work Method Statements must be provided for all activities, including construction of all loading ramps Personal Protective Equipment, including safety footwear, safety helmets and high visibility jackets/vests, must be worn by all labour whilst working within the confines of the gravel pit Safety equipment must be fitted to each item of plant, including, where appropriate, a fixed ladder to access the rear of the plant, appropriate lighting where plant is likely to be operated outside daylight hours, load capacity and safe working loads clearly marked on the plant, all guards and covers in place at all times except during repair or maintenance work, and appropriate covers on loads to prevent material being spilled when travelling on public roads (the driver is responsible for cleaning up any spillage during transportation) A plant inspection, maintenance and servicing schedule must be provided to ensure all plant supplied is in sound mechanical condition and able to work continuously for the duration of the contract, including as a minimum registration and insurance details, tyre safety checks, and safety checks on tipping bodies, blades, ropes and other similar equipment The Contractor must provide a copy of a Blasting Explosives Users Licence and comply with all requirements of the Explosives Act 2003 and Explosives Regulation 2013 Contract Terms and Conditions The Contractor shall, at their own expense, perform the obligations imposed by the agreement There shall be no additional cost to Council other than the contract rate specified Tender Briefing An optional pre-tender meeting will be held at Williams Pit.
